West Midlands Cancer Alliance has jointly created a new series of educational videos on benign skin lesions in collaboration with GatewayC.

The aim of these videos is to support and upskill GPs in recognising benign skin lesions, helping to reduce unnecessary referrals into skin cancer pathways and improve patient access for those who need specialist assessment.

The resources are also intended to support practice staff working alongside GPs, as well as provide a useful refresher for colleagues in secondary care reviewing skin lesion referrals.

They are introduced by Dr Aaron Wernham, a Consultant Dermatologist and Chair of the WMCA Skin Expert Advisory Group.

The videos shift the focus towards common benign lesions that can mimic common types of skin cancer.
