Breast screening round dates now more easily accessible

West Midlands Cancer Alliance and the regional screening team have been working together to gain accurate data for local Breast Screening rounds.

This enables information to be accessed by GP’s more easily whenever they need to know about local screening data for their patients.

New educational videos support GPs to recognise benign skin lesions

West Midlands Cancer Alliance has jointly created a new series of educational videos on benign skin lesions in collaboration with GatewayC.

The aim of these videos is to support and upskill GPs in recognising benign skin lesions, helping to reduce unnecessary referrals into skin cancer pathways and improve patient access for those who need specialist assessment.

Brain Tumour Charity launches Headsmart GP

The Brain Tumour Charity has launched Headsmart GP, an evidence-based toolkit for primary care teams.

It is being piloted in the West Midlands and is endorsed by the West Midlands Cancer Alliance.Every year, 13,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour in the UK.
